Obama to tap Republican John McHugh as secretary of Army

 President Barack Obama plans to nominate Republican congressman  John McHugh as secretary of the Army, an administration official said on Tuesday. McHugh, a New York lawmaker, would join Transportation Secretary  Ray LaHood and Defense Secretary Robert Gates, a holdover from the Bush administration, as another Republican in the top ranks of the Democratic Obama administration.
